8. Moana
In 2015, you may have heard the name Lin-Manuel Miranda thanks to the massive success of his excellent musical Hamilton (which I have seen and earns every single bit of hyperbole said about it). He, along with Opetaia Foaʻi and Mark Mancina, have written the music for Disney‘s latest animated musical. You may or may not have heard about their last musical, Frozen, but it’s pretty good. Moana has a lot to live up to, but with this creative team, which also includes What We Do in the Shadows‘ Taika Waititi, it is hard to see this one going wrong.
Moana will be released November 23, 2016.
