1. Silence
I tend to be a big fan when Martin Scorsese has a passion project he’s been trying to make for years and years, like The Last Temptation of Christ and Gangs of New York. Silence, based on a great novel by Shūsaku Endō, gets to tackle one of Scorsese’s favorite subjects, Catholicism, head on. A Scorsese film would be my most anticipated film pretty much any year he has a film, but this one is different. This is one that means a lot to the man, and those are the ones you have to keep an extra eye on.
Silence will be released Fall/Winter 2016.
There you have it, my ten most anticipated films of 2016. Here’s hoping all of them are great! What are you excited for this year?
