7. Wiener-Dog

Confession time: I have never seen a Todd Solondz film. He is an indie favorite, with films like Happiness, and I just have never seen one of his films. For that reason alone, I am excited. The premise of the movie does not sound terribly exciting. It’s about a dog that goes from owner to owner, spreading comfort and whatnot. It sounds like an indie War Horse, but from what I’ve heard about Solondz, it won’t be schmaltzy. Also, when the people in the film are Greta Gerwig, Ellen Bursyn, Danny DeVito, Julie Delpy, Tracy Letts, and Zosia Mamet, you’re bound to at least get great performances.
