Top Ten Most Anticipated Films of the 2016 Sundance Film Festival

9. Morris from America

Morris from America

This past week has been filled with endless talks of diversity and acceptance due to the Academy Award nominees. Morris from America is a film talking explicitly about that. It follows the titular Morris (Markees Christmas), a thirteen year-old African-American boy who moves to Germany. Having a different native tongue than everyone else is bad enough, let alone being black in a country that is unbelievably white. Imagine dealing with that at a time where puberty is ruling your life. This could prove to be a powerful movie that is not overbearing thanks to it being through the eyes of a more na├»ve mind. I hope I’m right.
