Top Ten Films of 2015

4. Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs

If you had not guessed by now, I love dialogue. When people are in rooms say intelligent, clever things to one another, I am a happy guy. So, of course, Steve Jobs is going to be high on this list with a dynamite script from Aaron Sorkin. And while it is wall to wall talking, one cannot discount the visual flair and energy Danny Boyle brings along to tell this portrait of the guy who started Apple. By filming different time periods with different formats, projections, and constant movement, he matches the crackling pace of the words. The ensemble here, led by Michael Fassbender, is exceptional and handle that dialogue so deftly. It is in no way natural, but they make it so. The odd structure may have turned a lot of people off from this, but I was locked in.
